    Our client is currently seeking an Approvals Engineer to support the Approvals activities across Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and UWB Technologies. The Approvals activities will range from assisting with defining Country Specific Regulatory Approvals, Protocol testing of BT Firmware releases, and Field Testing of Wi-FI releases.

    Key Responsibilities:
    *To ensure that requests from the Head of Cellular Approvals or Programme leads are successfully executed within the defined timeframe.
    *To perform the Approvals testing of Bluetooth Firmware releases against the AT4 Wireless BITE Protocol Tester. The Approvals engineer will be required to collate test results Pass/Fail, verify and debug the failures and raise defect reports and be required to work with development to resolve failure cases.
    *Carry out field testing of Wi-Fi protocol stacks which will involve the execution of defined field scenarios, determining the reason for failure Network or DUT, log capture, analysis of the failure and the capture of Hotspot parameters which are replayed on internal Hotspot. The field scenarios will require constant evaluation to ensure continual improvement with the aim to increase test coverage.
    *Support of the Coexistence test program by creating software test scripts and hardware configurations to test the coexistence of our client's technologies. This activity will be mainly lab based with some travel required to third party laboratories.
    *The Approval Engineer will be required to constantly look at improving the internal test process within the scope of their remit.
    *Attend meetings with customers e.g. attending IOT labs or external test facilities

    Person Specification:

    Required:
    *Educated to degree level or equivalent in a telecommunications, electronics or Software engineering.
    *Experience of working with, and testing, software implementing communication protocol stacks.
    *Experience of a scripting/programming language covering TTCN, Perl, MatLab, C++
    *Ability to communicate technical problems.
    *Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales and maintain a flexible attitude.
    *Competent with Windows and MS-Office.
    *Competent with using laboratory equipment such as scopes, digital multi-metres, etc

    Desired:
    *Some knowledge of electronics and/or RF.
    *Familiarity of the following technologies;
    *Cellular technologies including HSPA+ and LTE
    *Bluetooth
    *WiFi (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz)
    *WiMax
    *Willing to travel
    *Candidates need the ability to work and learn unaided. To be able to form team relationships with others within the organisation. The candidate should also be able to work under pressure to tight timescales when required and needs to maintain a flexible attitude towards the job.
    *Experience of testing embedded software
