Job Description
A leading Insurer covering a diverse portfolio of personal and commercial risks and a market leader in their chosen areas of business, is continuing it's planned growth and looking to employ the best people to produce the best insurance solutions and deliver the best service possible.
As a senior Underwriter this role will act as a referral point to trainee underwriters and also deal with specialist cases on an individual basis.
Key deliverables will include hitting retention targets, quoting and converting new business enquiries, whilst maintaining the teams' high level of customer service and technical expertise.
Key responsibilities
€¢ Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a panel of brokers
€¢ Write New Business & Renewals to targets across all lines of Commercial business
€¢ Maximise the conversion of new business quotes & retention of renewals
€¢ Maintain profitability of the account by making sound individual underwriting decisions
€¢ Act as mentor and point of referral for Trainee Underwriters
€¢ Negotiate with brokers to maximise business profitability
Key requirements
€¢ A proven track record within Underwriting
€¢ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
€¢ Willing to study/progression towards ACII
€¢ Strong organisational skills
€¢ Ability to develop technical competency
