Job Description

This role will work closely with Brokers to set up new Schemes and evaluate the success of existing schemes, making improvements where necessary.

The purpose of this role is to:

  • €¢ To ensure a quick response to new scheme opportunities

  • €¢ Test schemes for profitability and growth

  • €¢ Set viable schemes up & handle in the short-term to ensure robust business processing

  • €¢ Using management information and accurate reporting to transfer schemes out to a permanent operational base for servicing or challenge unviable schemes Principal duties:

  • €¢ Work closely with the Schemes Team Leader and other areas of the business to analyse individual schemes

  • €¢ Using Cost Benefit Analysis techniques and models, assess expected profitability of new schemes

  • €¢ Provide support/information in order that recommendations can be made as to viability of new schemes, including success and performance criteria where appropriate

  • €¢ Handle viable new schemes including selecting appropriate business processing method and bespoke processes & procedures as required for each individual scheme

  • €¢ Interpretation of actual scheme data against agreed scheme performance criteria

  • €¢ Analysis on the performance of individual schemes to support decisions by the business

Person Specification

  • €¢ Commercial insurance experience, ideally in an operational or underwriting environment

  • €¢ High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • €¢ Ability to develop basic underwriting & product knowledge to aid decision making

  • €¢ Strong character with ability to make decisions under pressure

  • €¢ Competent user of Microsoft Excel

  • €¢ Analytical mindset and experience of producing reports

  • €¢ Personable and able to develop robust working relationships with people from a variety of departments and backgrounds
