| Over all purpose of the job This is an exciting opportunity to become an Underwriter using market leading internet technology in dealing with underwriting referrals from brokers. The volume of business will rise significantly and career opportunities excellent for individuals who demonstrate the right attitude and the capability to learn and take on more. Principle duties and responsibilities Dealing quickly and efficiently with a large volume of new business and renewal referrals. Daily interaction with wide broker base to convert business and to deal with queries. Regular meetings with all the regional offices you will learn the basic principles of the of business and be fully trained in the use of the new quoting system. Working and training with the regional underwriting teams and allocated brokers including visits to the regional offices and secondments for short periods for underwriting training and development. Qualifications, Skills, Experience Ideally at least 1-2 years experience in financial services industry, not necessarily in insurance. Ability to develop basic underwriting knowledge and then make accurate, clear underwriting decisions. Ability to quickly learn the technical requirements of underwriting basic risks and to work quickly and accurately. Excellent telephone manner and inter-personal skills Customer service orientation i.e. a desire to service each broker to the best of your ability through dealing with a high daily volume of referrals and new business quotations. High level of drive and enthusiasm in order to handle the volume of referrals within the set response time. The role is likely to evolve very quickly as the team expands and candidates must demonstrate a willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities. |
